Overview
ImgSnip is designed as a client-side image converter. Image files you process are handled locally in your browser and are not uploaded to ImgSnip servers.
Data We Process
For image conversion, your files remain on-device and are processed in browser memory.
For website operations, we may process limited technical data such as:
- IP address and request metadata required to deliver pages.
- Basic logs for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.
- Aggregate conversion counters (for example, total files converted overall) without storing file names, image contents, or user accounts.
- Anonymous analytics events if enabled.
Aggregate Usage Metrics
ImgSnip may record a simple aggregate count of successful conversions to understand overall service usage. This metric is stored as a global total and is not designed to identify individual users.
We do not store image files, file names, account profiles, or per-user conversion histories for this metric.
GDPR Legal Bases
- Legitimate interests for service security, stability, fraud prevention, and aggregate service measurement.
- Consent where required (for example, non-essential analytics/cookies).
- Legal obligation where we are required to retain or disclose data.
Service Providers
We use infrastructure providers to operate ImgSnip, such as Vercel (hosting) and Upstash (managed data infrastructure for aggregate counters). These providers process limited technical data on our behalf.
Cookies and Tracking
ImgSnip does not require account cookies for conversion features. If analytics or other non-essential technologies are used, we will present appropriate consent controls where legally required.
Data Retention
Converted image files are not retained by ImgSnip servers as part of normal operation. Any server-side technical logs are retained only for the minimum period needed for security and operational purposes.
